DENOTATION & CONNOTATION

Denotation is a meaning from dictionary Denotation is a meaning from dictionary. Example, the word cat, In a dictionary it would mean a four legged animal and etc. WHAT IS DENOTATION? WHAT IS CONNOTATION? Connotation is a meaning from your own idea. Different people have different thoughts. Example, cat, some might think of Tom and Jerry or a pet at home.

EXAMPLE:

SCHOOL School- (1) A place where children are educated. (2) Large group of fish or dolphins sometimes call school. (3) University department or colleges are sometime call school.
