Title: Comments on my learning journey My musicHighlight your rating For my Horror soundtrack I composed a simple theme then made that into an ascending sequence or sometimes an ostinato. For the actions points I used chromatic movement mostly. My creative choices and decisions including my use of composition and music concepts. Very good Good Needs more work How well have I experimented with and developed my musical ideas? Very good I used the short film as a stimulus for my soundtrack to follow and from there thought about the tempo, tonality, timbre, dynamics and pitch of the music. Good Needs more work How effective and imaginative is my music? Very good I timed my action points so that it fitted with what was happening in the film. I could have perhaps thought a bit more about varying my ideas instead of just using chromatic notes but it still worked well. Good Needs more work Does it make musical sense/convey my intentions? When the soundtrack was added to the film it made sense and was really effective. When it was a creepy bit I made sure the music was quiet and appropriate. What I would do differently next time and why? I would try and think about what instruments went well together as a group instead of random instruments.
