Welcome to Theatre class! Teacher: Mrs. Pope

Who is this teacher?

What will this class be like? You must learn to work well with others no matter who they are You must be brave and confident You must earn a good grade by putting in a good effort You must be willing to try new things

What do I expect from you?? Show respect for yourself, your teacher, and fellow classmates at all times. Show up prepared for class with required materials and a positive attitude. Show commitment by arriving on time each day and taking work seriously.

Show interest in theatre by completing tasks to the best of your ability and asking questions. Show responsibility by keeping our classroom neat and following Mrs. Pope’s directions the first time given. Show off by participating each day!

THE RULES ARE SIMPLE! 1.Treat everyone in this room with kindness at all times. 2.Follow the SMS handbook. 3.DO NOT CHEW GUM! 4.No food/drink/candy allowed. Water is okay. 5.Follow instructions the FIRST time they are given!

Consequences 1.Call home to parent or note in tracker 2.Detention after school 3.Loss of classroom privileges 4.Referral

Supplies Needed Bring your tracker every single day. You will not be allowed to leave class without it. Pencil or pen every day Paper every day 1 sheet of poster board A 3 ring binder with dividers for: –Notes- Classwork/Homework –Journal - Quizes

Additional Supplies Roll of paper towels Box of tissue Hand sanitizer Glue sticks Markers Colored pencils Construction Paper Index Cards

Late Work You are responsible for making up work you miss. I will not remind you or make sure to get missed work to you. A missed performance will devastate your grade in this class. All performances will be announced ahead of time, so there should be no need to miss. Unless you return with a doctor’s note, you will not be excused.

Dressing for Class Like PE physical work is required sometimes. Be sure to dress so that you can move comfortably, bend, stretch, and get on the floor if needed. Dresses, skirts, tight fitting clothes and uncomfortable shoes will just not work here.

Tardy? 1.Sign the list by the door 2.Join the class without interruption 3.3 rd tardy = call home, 5 th tardy = 1 day ISS

Grading Grading is based on an 8 point scale: A = B = C = D = F = Below 70

Class Work/Homework/Quiz = 50% Participation / Cooperation = 25% Notebook/Journal = 25%
