The Parable of the Wicked Tenants Luke 20:9-18

The Wicked Tenants  The vineyard is Israel – Isa. 5:1-7  Its tenants are the leaders of Israel – Matt. 23:29-36  They wanted the control for themselves, losing sight of what mattered!

The Desired Fruit  What is good (obedience) – 1 Sam. 15:  It comes from His vineyard – 2 Pet. 1:1-4  Thus, we owe it to Him – 2 Tim. 1:10-14

The Lesson For Us  Remember that we are just laborers – 2 Cor. 4:1-6  God is in control, and now gives us work – Luke 12:48  Do we receive (listen to) His servants, the apostles & prophets? – John 13:16-20

Conclusion So many under the Old Law rejected God’s prophets, and so many rejected Jesus when He came in the flesh. So now, under the New Law, the Lord offers work to us. Do not forget, Jesus will come again!
