UAS Campaign Method Initial Posture – Dayton Region is “UAS – Active” –Supporting AFRL and NASA UAS related R&D – BASELINE –Certificate of Authorizations from the FAA Intermediate State – Focus regional capabilities toward UAS business creation and attraction –Why would a business be interested in Ohio? –Establishes Ohio as a solution provider End State – Ohio is the clear favorite location for UAS RDT&E, Manufacturing and Integration –Comprehensive State Economic Growth –Positions region to cascade into Prime Final Assembly recruitment

Strategy Components UAS Strategy –Demonstrate Activity –Increase Profile Elements to demonstrate activity –COA submittals –Ohio Airspace Strategic Integration Study (OASIS) –Ohio/Indiana UAS Center and Test complex –FAA UAS Center of Excellence Elements to increase profile –Ohio UAS Conference (Aug 15-16, 2016) –Assoc. of Unmanned Vehicle Systems Intl. annual conference (May 2-5, 2016)

Strategy Activities Launch a UAS challenge Project with Centers of Excellence working together with a focus on real world applications in Create a collective/cooperative marketing strategy/plan; –use a big “wow!” event as a kickoff, Drone Town USA as a place to create a Kitty Hawk moment; and/or showcase capabilities –Consider the Sense and Avoid demonstration or Ground Based Sense and Avoid technology as an opportunity Develop an Ohio UAS Legislative Plan and strategy for what the state needs in UAS over the next three years; with one and three year objectives.
