What is a reality show?  «ordinary» people presented in unscripted situations.  first reality shows: the radio game shows.  Many subgenres within the reality shows

When did they become so popular?  popular in the year of 1999  Big Brother  Survivor  Different from anything that had been showed on the television before.

How real are the reality shows?  Discussion around how real they are.  Seems unreal because the participants crosses their normal boundaries.
