What you are about to see is AWESOME SEE I TOLD YOU An awesome PowerPoint presentation by Luke Dilonardo and Daniel Morris

Even though Japanese use a different language to China, the Japanese language originally came from ancient China. China says that it was made thousands of years ago.

The character created 1000 years ago is Kanji, which originally was picture. These characters over time changed and changed again. The Japanese language Kanji was changed in 1981 so that it was made easier to read and write Kanji, this then lead the Japanese government to introduced the jōyō kanji hyō, which means list of Chinese Characters for General Use. This includes 1,945 regular characters, plus 166 special characters used only for people's names. Japanese newspapers and textbooks also use this.

KATAKANA The katakana language is made of 48 syllables and was originally considered "men's writing". Since the 20th century, katakana have been used mainly to write foreign names. Before the 20th century all foreign loanwords were written with kanji. Katakana are characterized by short, straight strokes and angular corners, and are the simplest of the Japanese scripts.

The Hiragana syllables are developed from the Chinese characters, Hiragana was originally called onnade or 'women's hand.‘ This is because mainly it was used by women. When it was the 10th century, Hiragana was used by everybody. Hiragana means "oridinary symbol script". In ancient times the versions of hiragana were often many different characters that represent one symbol, however the system was changed eventually so that there was a one-to-one relationship between spoken and written syllables.
