Instructional Focus for

The Northley Staff will be able to (SWBAT) identify a comprehensive Daily Learning Objective by Completing a PowerPoint handout.

IIs the first step in guiding a teacher in lesson planning SShould match the Agenda, Activities and Strategies used in the lesson FFocuses the student and teacher on the task at hand *Students must experience Rigor, Relevance, & Relationship daily in class. A complete daily learning objective addresses 2 of the 3 components.

 Thinking Skill  Content  Product

1. The Daily Learning Objective is the same as the PA common core standard 2. The Daily Learning Objective is the same as the agenda for the day 3. The Daily Learning Objective doesn’t need to be a complete sentence 4. The Product requires the student to write 5. All 3 parts aren’t necessary 6. The thinking skill and the product must be different

 Read the Objective and determine if it is an “example” or a “non-example” of a Daily Learning Objective

 SWBAT describe the effects of the Revolutionary War in a thinking map.

 SWBAT read textbook pages 3-10

 SWBAT take Notes after reading about ancient civilizations.

 SWBAT simplify expressions.

 SWBAT complete a thinking map on molecular structures.

 SWBAT support their judgments related to political activism using evidence in think-pair-share.
