Click on the “Food Groups” Link
Copy the Main Idea point for the five food groups
Click on one of the food groups or related topics
Under each of the 5 food group pages, click on TIPS
From the list of tips, select 3 to copy for your poster, scroll down the page for more tips.
Repeat the tips for each of the main food groups Grains Vegetables Fruits Milk Meat and Beans
Choose oils from the list on the right
The main heading for Fat, Oils and Sweets is… Know your fats
Click on “Why is it important”
From the reading, select 2 reasons why it is important to consume oils
Click on Physical Activity
The main heading for Physical Activity is… Find your balance between food and physical activity.
Click on the “Tips for increasing physical activity” link
Scroll down the page and select 3 tips from the selections
On the left of the screen, click on “Interactive Tools”
Click on Daily Food Plan
Enter your age, gender and activity level. Weight and height are optional. Then submit.
Record your calorie amount and the serving amounts recommended for you When you have completed your research, begin working on your poster. Your project is due at the end of the class on Wednesday.
