 Read through all of the procedures on the lab handout before looking at the following pictures.

Part 1: Preparing the pH Standards 1. The cabbage juice indicator was prepared according to the directions in step 1.

Part 1: Preparing the pH Standards 2. The standard solutions were added to each test tube.

Part 1: Preparing the pH Standards 3. The cabbage juice indicator was added to each standard and mixed. Record the following colors in the “Standards Data Table”.

Part 2: Preparing the tests a. The household substances were added to the test tubes.

Part 2: Preparing the tests b-d. Cabbage juice was added to each test tube and mixed. Record the following colors in the “Tests Data Table”.

Part 2: Preparing the tests e. Compare the colors from the household substances to those of the standards to determine their pH.

 Answer the questions, showing all work required work.  You have 2 days for every day absent to finish your work. Make sure you are completing and turning in your lab on time.
