Internet Safety Curriculum Technology literacy is a critical issue for 21 st century learning No longer a stand alone skill, but rather a cross curricular tool for teaching and learning Digital citizenship is an integral part of ISTE NETS, the EGUSD Technology Plan - and prepares students to learn and thrive in the 21 st century work force. 6

Why i-SAFE Curriculum The District adopted i-SAFE because: Industry leader - Endorsed by U.S. Congress Alignment with ISTE NETS Excellent K-12 lessons Powerful videos - positive feedback from EGUSD trainings Great organization of web and print content Lessons for classrooms with or without computers Overall impact of program Positive reviews by EGUSD elementary focus group 7

i-SAFE Curriculum Topics Elementary School - Lesson topics presented by i-SAFE's character "i- Buddy." Each lesson provides students with exposure to Internet concepts and vocabulary through engaging hands-on activities. Middle School – Includes participatory activities to foster discussion, cooperative learning, concept development, and opportunities for school and community outreach. Materials include lesson plans for Service Learning projects and activities. High School- Participatory activities and discussions revolve around topic- centered webcast videos as well as traditional lesson plan formats. Materials include lesson plans and opportunities for Service Learning projects and activities. 8
