- COMPELLING QUESTIONS - How hard is it for black people to vote? Why do white people think black people can’t vote? Where did the black people live during Jim Crows Law?

WHERE DID AFRICAN-AMERICAN LIVE DURING THE TURN OF THE CENTURY? In 1870, 85.3% of all African Americans lived in the South, by 1910 that number dropped to 82.8%, by 1950 the number had dwindled to 61.5%, and by 1990 is was down to 46.2% living in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, or Virginia

HOW DID JIM CROW LAWS AFFECT AFRICAN- AMERICANS? THESE LAWS SEPARATED AFRICAN AMERICANS AND WHITES IN PUBLIC SPACES. THE COLORED PEOPLE DOES NOT FEEL EQUAL. THE WHITE PEOPLE WERE UPSET WITH JIM CROWS DECISION.

WHAT KIND OF JOBS DID AFRICAN-AMERICAN HAVE AT THE TURN OF THE CENTURY? Many African Americans were in the south working agricultural jobs, operative, laborer, private service, famer, farm laborer, and craft. Most African Americans worked as farmer or farm laborer.
