Rome In about 500 BCE the Roman Republic was established and it would last some four centuries.
The Roman Arm of strength reached into northern Italy, conquering the ETRUSCANS, and eventually streched in all directions, gaining supremacy over Greece, western Europe, northern Africa, and parts of the Near East.
It was fashionable for romans to own or to have copies of Greek works of art. - - This tendency gave the romans a reputation as mere imitators of greek art, a simplistic view laid waste by scholars of Roman art history. Roman Art
