5 th Beatitude

5 th Beatitude- “Happy are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy”. 1. Merciful people are people who forgive others and are kind. 2. God and others will forgive people and show them kindness. 3. Mercy- forgiving others and doing good things for those who are sad. 4. Merciful- help anyone in need.

5. Jesus showed mercy when he was dying on the cross by forgiving those who crucified him. 6. When Jesus forgave his enemies, he taught us what it means to be merciful. 7. What are some ways we can be merciful (especially for our enemies). - forgive - pray - love our enemies - give to those who need - do good for those who hurt us.

9. Mary is called the Mother of Mercy, because she also helps others. She was helpful at the wedding feast of Cana, when she told Jesus that wine was needed.
