COMMUNICATION is actually a complex process COMMUNICATION is actually a complex process. There are 2 parts to communication. What do you think they are?

The 2 parts to communication are: The SENDER – transmits or sends a message 2. The RECEIVER- hears and Interprets the message

PART 1: THE SENDER & COMMUNICATING

When two people are communicating in person, there are 2 types of communication going on: NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION – body movement, facial expressions, eye contact, gestures 2. VERBAL COMMUNICATION – The words you use and the way that you use them

How can NONVERBAL language be misinterpreted?

How can VERBAL language be misinterpreted?

When you are trying to communicate your thoughts and feeling with others, one way to do it so that there is no misunderstanding is to use I-STATEMENTS!

PART 2: THE RECEIVER

Your skill in LISTENING is an important part of communicating effectively. You RECEIVE a message in 2 parts: 1. Take in the message 2. Interpret the message
