Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal was constructed over a period of twenty two years, employing twenty thousand workers. It was Emperor Shah Jehan who ordered the building of the Taj Mahal, in honour of his wife. The construction began early in the year Shah Jehan built the Taj Mahal in memory of Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their fourteenth child.
