Final Jeopardy Answer 1.Georgia’s Importance in the Civil War included a transportation center, industrial center, and supplying the Confederacy with food and war supplies. 2.The Blockade of GA’s ports restricted the cotton trade with Europe which hurt the South’s economy. 3.The Atlanta Campaign were a series of several battles fought in North Georgia while Sherman approached Atlanta. Once at Atlanta, Sherman was able to take the City and later burn it to the ground. 4.Sherman’s March to the Sea destroyed $100 million worth of property, livestock and crops. This was the last step in destroying GA’s was resources. 5.Andersonville Prison was a POW camp in GA. Due to limited supplies, many soldiers died due to starvation, poor sanitation and disease.
