(E/D GRADE) MOST students will contrast the economic activities, spatial growth and population of ;2 differing megacities: Mumbai and Los Angeles. (C/B GRADE) SOME students will be able to apply this understanding and knowledge to compare the similarities and differences between megacities in LEDC and MEDC areas ? (A/A* GRADE)

Cities with a population over 10 million. KEY TERMS MEGACITIES Cities with a population over 10 million. SPATIAL GROWTH This is how a city grows in space over time. INFORMAL ECONOMY Jobs that have little, or no, job security. No tax is paid. FORMAL ECONOMY Jobs with contracts of employment and more job security. People pay tax. HYPERURBANISATION Where the urban population is growing so fast that the city can’t cope with people’s needs.
