CHOICE Winter Celebration A student driven project

History Started 11 years ago by the leadership class It is a partnership between the students, staff, and the community Last year we served over 500 students and their families As we no longer have a leadership class, students have taken on coordination of this event with mentoring from staff

Project Coordinator - Sasha Get donations from the community Create publications and promote the event at CHOICE and in the community Coordinate all other students and volunteers, holding weekly meetings with all involved students Coordinate decorations

Clothing and Toy Drive – Amy and Jesus Collect new and used clothes and toys from students and staff Coordinate advisory competition Sort clothes and wrap toys Supervision distribution of items during Winter Celebration

Entertainment and Food Drive- Heather Coordinate musical productions during the dinner (hopefully have elementary choirs participate) Coordinate food drive

Other Activities Face painting and children’s activities Ham and potato dinner Pictures with Santa

Toys – Manufacturing Class Manufacture the toys using an assembly model Students gain experience in using shop tools, sanding, assembly, and quality assurance
