DISADVANTAGED : Those who don´t have access to equal opportunities. Anyone who meets an obstacle which is beyond his/her control and prevents him/her from getting social integration, education, work, etc. Lacking in the basic resources or conditions (as standard housing, medical and educational facilities, and civil rights) believed to be necessary for an equal position in society

CRITERIA: Geographical: Living in isolated places; far from educational, financial or administrative facilities; living abroad; deprived environment… Educational: Academic failure; No or low qualifications; Language problems; No schooling or lack of studies; Illiterate; Leaving school early; Difficult access to education… Physical: Disabled (physically or mentally); Lacking medical care and health services… Social: Broken families; People in prison; Adequate housing; Work and residence pemits; Lack of values; Ethnic minorities; Sex; Low self-esteem; Poor communication ability… Economic: Low incomes; Unemployed; Temporary workers… Psychological: Personal background…

“OUR” DISADVANTAGED:  Immigrant students sometimes with high qualifications in their countries but without basic language skills.  Unemployed students or those who have lost their jobs at a late age.  Learners who live in surrounding villages and face difficulty to come to classes due to distance or timetables.  Illiterate  Students who failed at school and retake their studies and those who didn´t have the opportunity to study  Single mothers and women in general
