Reasons to Read to your Child Enjoying books if vital for learning to read The act of being read to should be a well- established, daily routine which provides a special time together Brief sessions of reading to babies can be helpful in developing the joy of reading Parents interact with children while reading to them Children learn to handle books and turn pages Children associate written words on the page with words being read aloud Finishing a book creates a sense of accomplishment
