Speed Camera’s… Speed camera’s are very effective in stopping vehicles speeding. In some areas residents are supplied with ‘mobile speed camera’s’ to catch speeding motorists. A report from one police force shown:- - Average speeds fell by 17% - Deaths and serious injuries fallen by 55%

Green Travel… You can make travelling a lot greener by saving carbon emissions. To do this, you should travel to school or work by the following:- - Using school buses - Car Sharing - Flexi day – finish school at different times. - Walk or cycle

Epic Journeys… Astronauts use thousands of pounds to travel from the earth to space, when there are people on the earth who have little to have food.

The BIG Fuel Protest… Lorry drivers in Britain did a protest claiming that fuel costs were to high, so they blockaded fuel depots. They were angry because most of the cost of the fuel is tax. So this were raising money for the Government. Car journeys in built up areas use more fuel per kilometre than ‘out of town’ journeys at the same average speed. The reason for this is that cars slow down and speed up more often in built up areas. More fuel is used up by a car that keeps stopping and starting than one driven at constant speed.

Extra Fact’s… Motorway and A Road drivers can expect to see more SPECS cameras. High surveillance video that time you from point to point. These are designed to prevent motorists from braking at the GATSO camera and speeding up later as they calculate your average speed between points, up to a mile and if you're over the limit, you're booked.
