Online Resources From Oxford University Press

This presentation gives a very brief overview of online resources from Oxford University Press in the field of International Relations, including: SIPRI Yearbook Oxford Reference University Press Scholarship Online Oxford Journals Oxford Handbooks Oxford Bibliographies Oxford Public International Law Oxford Constitutions of the World

SIPRI YEARBOOK

SIPRI (the Stockholm International Peace & Research Institute) is an independent international institute dedicated to research into conflict, armaments, arms control and disarmament. It was established in 1966 and provides data, analysis and recommendations, based on open sources, to policymakers, researchers, media and the interested public. The SIPRI Yearbook is the authoritative source of data and analysis on: Security and conflicts Military spending and armaments Non-proliferation, arms control and disarmament.

Oxford Reference

Bringing together 2 million digitized entries across Oxford’s Dictionaries, Companions and Encyclopedias, Oxford Reference is the premier online reference product. As you browse through Oxford Reference, you may find results that range from short- entry, general reference to more in-depth articles on specialized subjects. counterinsurgency Searching sites is straightforward. Simply type the term and click.

Results come from several different books in the collection, and can be filtered in various ways using the left column. Results also include a quick dictionary definition, and an Overview page.

The Overview page, which is freely available and discoverable on Google, provides a quick reference source and gives useful onward links to make the research journey smoother. The Oxford Index underbar also allows you to extend the search to other online material from Oxford University Press.

Clicking on the underbar link will take you to the index card for that resource on Oxford Index. The Index is freely available, so even if you do not have a subscription to the resource, you will be able to see the preview or abstract. If you do have a subscription, you can go directly to the relevant book or chapter from here.
