© 2009 Bentley Systems, Incorporated 11 | 11 Visualization Some simple rendering can be done by assigning materials to the different mesh elements. This can be done either manually or through the use of pre-assigned materials.

© 2009 Bentley Systems, Incorporated 12 | 12

© 2009 Bentley Systems, Incorporated 13 | 13 Visualization You can automate the rendering process by assigning materials based on level and color. These pre-assigned material settings can then be saved in your seed file or in a DGN Library.

© 2009 Bentley Systems, Incorporated 28 | 28 Items Browser When you create a surface and plot components, the components are tagged with EC Attributes. These attributes can then be browsed using the Items Browser in MicroStation.

© 2009 Bentley Systems, Incorporated 34 | 34 Merging TIN’s for Review A question that comes up is how to ‘supplement’ you proposed surface with your existing surface. You could merge the existing and proposed, but if you do that you lose the component visualization capabilities. The answer is to ‘clip’ the existing TIN and then display the clipped TIN alongside the components.
