Last Spring, R&R Committee members reviewed and provided input into the development of the Marketing Plan Brainstormed tactical ideas for the plan Developed two prioritized lists of key initiatives – one for Recruitment, one for Retention

Recruitment Initiatives: 1. Campus beautification - significant focus on the look of the campus - also on signage (exterior and interior) 2. Develop Summer Bridge Programs 3. Website – Update the Look and Improve Functionality 4. High School Advertising

Retention Initiatives: 1. Mandatory Orientation for all New Students - mandatory advised registration - orientation concentrated on student success - face-to-face plus a NEW on-line option 2. Early Alert Program 3. Campus-wide Retention Focus 4. Faculty Development re: Millennial Students

Current Status: Subcommittees have fleshed out each initiative Work teams established to see initiatives through implementation Some funding obtained – ie. Perkins Non Trad Funding of $25,000 for High School Advertising

Current Status continued: Work teams may be approaching others to join/assist Will be coming to CLT for funds as required - minimal marketing funds budgeted; will require reallocation to implement tactics Already brainstorming next set of priorities to be worked on once these 8 have been implemented

Other marketing-related activities Have completed the student focus group sessions. New communications tools implemented HCC Intranet Radio advertising for Spring and Summer ’09 Counselors (DOE) on Campus Construction Career Days

Other marketing-related activities cont’d Karen H continues her PR/publicity activities Emily K continues her work with community groups – ie. Kalihi Santa Claus Parade Academic counselors continue their visits to local high schools … and many more activities
