AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE OFFICER United States Air Force

JOB DUTIES Supervise and assist in maintenance on various types of aircraft including fighters and cargo planes Ensure maintenance is done properly and on time

EDUCATION Bachelor’s Degree Major: Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Minor: Computer Sciences

COST Type 1 scholarship (Engineering) all expenses paid Type 2 all expenses except books are paid Type 7 only tuition is paid for Paid to go to school (receive biweekly paycheck)

WRIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY Would be part of detachment # Report to WPAFB once a week Take engineering classes/General education classes like everyone else All expenses paid

OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY Part of detachment #645 Would report to WPAFB periodically for specialized training Attend regular classes and engineering classes All expenses paid

DISADVANTAGES Obligated to serve for 6 years AFTER college as an officer Officers are required to move bases every 2 years

ADVANTAGES Basic training is shorter Paid to go to school Higher pay than regular enlisted troops Can get out after 6 years
