Physical Characteristics A giraffe has brownish-yellow to chestnut brown patch like markings. They have two boney “horns” that grow from a giraffe’s skull. A giraffe has a long neck. Males can grow to 17 feet, and girls can grow to 14 feet. A male weighs about 2,600 pounds.
Habitat A giraffe lives south of Saharra.
Food A giraffe eats fruit of tree’s, leaves and bushes. A giraffe is an herbivore.
Protection\Predators The giraffe defends itself by kicking back. Lions are the only animals that attack giraffes.
Life Span A giraffe lives for 28 years.
Babies The gestation period of a giraffe is 15 months. A giraffe can have a baby at five years old.
Cool Facts An elephant may weigh over five times a giraffe. A giraffe’s leg is taller then five feet.
