Wooden toy

Kids toy How are they safer Because they can be sanded down until there smooth and the rough corners can be rounded to be safer with contact for children. How are they more durable Because wood is stronger than plastics because they are solid and aren’t thin sheeted plastic parts and can be easily repaired.

Kids toy How are they eco-friendly They are eco friendly because they don’t use chemicals or liquids to be used and are made from a renewable resource. How do they encourage imaginative play They encourage imaginative play because the toy is plain which allows you to create your own landscape/background for play.

Kids toy ideas Magnetic fishing set Helicopter Wood gas station Boat Wooden crane Match the block box Jenga Each of these ideas are good but I have to pick the best suited for a boy who likes cars and trucks.

What I'm building wooden gas station Garage doors Single f door for basic build 2 or more g pumps for front to back access Roof top access for extra parking area Window s for inside view of station My basic evaluation of what I will need for the gas station

S holder 2 interview Who are they? The wooden wheel. What is there philosophy aim? To make toys for children. What do they sell? Wooden toys. Where are they located? Warkworth. This company's builds gave me some ideas for added detail to my work

S holder 2 interview questions What they like? He likes anything that could be used for cars or to play with. What colour they like? He likes blue, white and purple How they would like it? No specification Is there anything they want to be built with it? no

Formulating design brief Shapes as in squares or rectangles for building shape. Sizes need to be big enough for toy cars to be used in it e.g. hot wheels/ matchbox Colours? Red, blue What gender it would best suit? male Age restrictions? no for under 3 years old Is it safer for children? Yes and no because of the edges and how the wood could splinter.

Design brief I am required to design & manufacture a wooden toy for allie and her son The requirements needed are. It must be safe, eco-friendly, durable, and encourage imaginative play. It should be by cm It should be age suitable for 3-5 years. It could be car themed. It could be a mechanical working machine.

Scale prototype what was I able to find out? I found that it was hard to keep everything level when modifications had to be made the buildings surface to make it easier to keep intact. I found out that my initial size idea was to small so I have to size it more cm. I also found out that red, blue and white would be best suited for painting my model if it comes to that.

Developing prototype what modifications need to be made? Modifications needed? Building sized up to cm instead of 30 cm for easier build. The stands need to have extra height added to them for the lowering in my prototype so that they can sit just fine in the bottom floor Pumps need to be smaller as to look better and not so bulky to save room. Roof size needs to be extended and lengthened for accessible use from toy cars.
