Progression

Dream Job My dream job in the media would be to become a magazine editor. I see myself going Into magazine editing as it is what I enjoy doing. The magazine unit was the unit I most enjoyed. I have always been interested in magazine and have always wanted to have my own magazine to edit.

My next step… To become a magazine editor I will need to get my diploma in this level 3 media course. As I do not want to go to university, once I have finished this course I will look into getting an apprenticeship with a magazine and getting work experience.

Apprenticeships Apprenticeship in creative and digital media- Job roles: Junior designer. Qualification: Level 3 advanced. Salary: from £13,000 to £17,000. Apprenticeship with Mediacom doing gathering competitor information, analysis of demographic and lifestyle data, production of media delivery analysis, assessment of media opportunities, negotiation of media rates, production of media plans, building relationships with media owners, analyzing campaign results, interrogating consumer insight/research, facilitating client billing and ensuring all general administration is carried out. Salary: £269 per week.
