Introduction ZATULET (Zambia Tuberculosis and Leprosy Trust ) is a registered Non Profit NGO (1998 with Registrar of Societies) and 2014 with Ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child Health. ZATULET is a community based organization which is also in health service delivery through its community clinic

Goal, Vision and Mission Goal To contribute to the reduction of the burden of TB/HIV/AIDS/Leprosy in Zambia through its Community Work Our Vision “A county free of TB/HIV/AIDS and Leprosy through knowledgeable and empowered communities Our Mission “To undertake community case-finding, diagnosis, treatment, care and support, prevention and control of tuberculosis/HIV/AIDS/leprosy as well as provide social services to Youths and OVC

OUR FOCUS Our focus is on the most vulnerable in communities mainly in shanty towns and rural areas Community based TB control through trained Community TB Treatment Supporters A holistic response to support people affected by TB and the TB/HIV co-infected Mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDS among OVCs and other vulnerable people Advocacy for TB/HIV/AIDS service improvement

CURRENT ACTIVITIES Intensified TB case- finding (Door to Door Screening using signs and symptoms check list) Community HIV Prevention Treatment adherence for both TB and HIV/AIDS Awareness Raising on basic facts about TB/HIV/AIDS and Leprosy both community radio and drama Running a Community Clinic and Laboratory in Lusaka’s Mass Media Area (about 1,000 receiving ARVs and 80 TB patients receiving treatment) Building a new clinic and a Laboratory supported by the Embassy of Japan in Zambia OVC – Now Supporting 40 (20 girls and 20 boys in schools), but 1,200 still on the waiting list.

TB Planned Activities contd eDetection is an application that aids in locating and identifying active TB cases and contact tracing (will provide Intensified Case – Finding ) Lab Result Alert System, mimics a manual lab register maintained in small labs ( Immediately test results are entered in a Mini ipad or tablet, it automatically alerts the patient and the health care worker) 3. Leprosy School Project 2016: This make children be aware about Leprosy. We still have pockets of Leprosy in Zambia yet most children do not know leprosy. 4. Operational Research

TARGET POPULATION Every one but mainly Girls All adolescents OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children) Women. Both Pregnant and Breast Feeding ones Under 5’s Children Disabled People Youths Prisoners Fishermen Farmers

Planned Activities For HIV 1. HIV Prevention to current 12 sites in 5 provinces and Cross Border Sites Activities Door to Door HIV Testing and Counselling (HTC) Tent HTC at Border Sites and Fishing Camps Forming Family HIV Prevention Committees Youths/ Adolescent HIV Prevention Committees Self forming group for ARVs collection Condom distribution and education in hot spots Small IGA at border areas for sustainability

Planned Activities For HIV contd Running a Community Clinic General ART program continues (Treatment Scale up) Intensifying the Paediatric ART (ACT) Implementing the Planned Voluntary Male Circumcision (VMMC) Reducing Congestion at Kalingalinga ART clinic by encouraging staff to refer clients to ZATULET Clinic Community Awareness raising for both HIV and TB Referring eligible clients to nearest clinic Treatment Adherence for TB (DOT) and HIV both at Community and Clinic Level To make sure that ZATULET appears as a stand alone ART site on the PEPFAR HIV/AIDS Program.
