 Flavor of Love is an American reality television dating game show starring Flavor Flav of the rap group Public Enemy.  Flavor of Love aired for three seasons.

 Flavor of Love is an American reality television dating game show starring Flavor Flav of the rap group Public Enemy. The show is part of VH1's Celebreality lineup and its format is similar to that of The Bachelor, with contestants living in a mansion and being put through various challenges while Flav chooses to keep or eliminate them.

 In Flavor of Love, each contestant is given a nickname by Flav, and is referred to by that nickname for as long as they remain in the competition. When a contestant is eliminated, her real name is then revealed. Instead of receiving a rose, the contestants that survive elimination receive a clock during a clock ceremony and contestants that are not eliminated, receive gold clocks to wear around their necks with their picture on them.

 The intended audience of the television show is ranges from teenagers to those in their mid-thirties.  Flavor of Love aired on Sunday nights at 9:00-10:00pm.

 The girls on the show are categorized as promiscuous. They act sinful in order to get attention and win over Flav’s heart. This gives the message that women are viewed as sexual objects that are pleasing through the male perspective.  In the beginning of the show, Flav gives the girls nicknames in which are degrading. This shows that the girls are so concerned about winning that they ignore the fact that they are being disrespected.

 The show Flavor of Love has also had many spin-offs including I love New York. New York was one of the finalists on Flavor of Love. Because of her extreme and immoral behaviors, VH1 gave her, her own show.  This feministic lens shows that women’s degradation has become a new form of entertainment and is commonly accepted in American society.
