“The Making of “ Groups create, plan, shoot and edit a multi-shot public service announcement (PSA). Your group will chose a topic Pre-production is emphasized in this project. Individual script and an individual storyboard Film one of the scripts or to write a new script and storyboard Setup, Conflict, and Resolution. Structure of a script.

PRE-PRODUCTION THE SCRIPT (25 pts) “Script Formatting Guide” Three act script format. THE STORYBOARD (25 pts) Six shots including a close-up, a medium shot, and a point of view shot. No equipment without a pre-approved storyboard.

PRODUCTION Cinematography (10 pts) / Shot Variety (10 pts) Storyboard and scripts as guides. Changes can be made during production, but the same general story should be told. Lighting not emphasized but keep the main subjects illuminated. A complex plot is not required, but the student filmmaker should try to make the cinema sequence clear and intelligible. Shoot variety including close-up, medium shot, point of view. Legal and safety All shots will be slated.

POST-PRODUCTION Continuity Editing (10 pts) Clarity of Film Action (10 pts) Titles (5 pts) Not required but can be used for emphasis. Project must begin with 10 seconds of black. Sound (15 pts)

UNEDITED FOOTAGE After the end of your film, put in 10 seconds of black and place two shots of your unedited footage in the file you submit. Each shot must include the slate and live audio. Films without these shots will not be graded

DON’TS & BE CAREFULS 10 points off per week for late projects! Projects longer than 1:30 minutes or shorter than 0:30 minutes, subtract 15 points The project MUST be edited before it is submitted for credit. A maximum of 10% of footage submitted may be derived from other sources.  No dangerous stunts or activities of any kind – you are responsible for your set! Your project must be in this order: (1) Ten seconds of black at the head (beginning),  (2) The film, (3) Ten seconds of black (again), (4) At least two shots of unedited footage with slates.
