Why do we need to be concerned?

21 Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was gatekeeper at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 22 All these, who were chosen as gatekeepers at the thresholds, were 212. They were enrolled by genealogies in their villages. David and Samuel the seer established them in their office of trust. 23 So they and their sons were in charge of the gates of the house of the L ORD, that is, the house of the tent, as guards. 24 The gatekeepers were on the four sides, east, west, north, and south. I Chronicles 9:21-24

And we prayed to our God and set a guard as a protection against them day and night. Nehemiah 4:9

Child Sexual Abuse

Registered Sex Offenders Arizona has approximately 14,500 registered sex offenders. Sex offenders come from all walks of life and from all socio-economic groups. They can be male or female, rich or poor, employed or unemployed, religious or non-religious, educated or uneducated, and from any race. Although some sex offenders are strangers and stalkers, many know the victim as a family member, friend, or neighbor. They win a child's trust and then take advantage of that trust.

Registered Sex Offenders Potential victims are likely to be children that are poor, neglected, loners, or runaways. Many pedophiles seek out mothers of single parent families for the purpose of victimizing children. Sex offenders often like playgrounds and other places where children congregate. Most sex offenders groom their victims prior to any crime.

Do offenders molest with others present or nearby? 54.9% molested with another child present 23.9% molested with another adult present 14.2% molested with both another adult and another child present 63% of those who had not molested with others present felt that they may have progressed to that point.

What do you do if a child comes forward with an allegation?
