Question Which plant grows best under artificial light?

Hypothesis My hypothesis is that corn will grow the best, because the corn seeds are the biggest.

Materials 5 corn seeds potting soil 5 oat seeds 1 tablespoon 5 soy bean seeds three small pieces of paper to write the names of the seeds on grow light warm water

Procedures Write the names of soy beans, oats, and corn on three pieces of paper Put 6cm of potting soil in a seed tray (48cm by 32cm) Plant 5 of each seed in the seed tray Put a grow light 29cm over the soil First time watering water very well Water 3 tablespoons of water every 3 day Watch which type of plant grows best, or worst

Data Chart Day 0 Day 5 Day 9 Day 13 Soybeans 4 15 24 Oats 7.5 19.5 23 4 15 24 Oats 7.5 19.5 23 Corn 1 13.5

Plant Heights 5, 9, 13 Days After Planting

Explanation of Chart & Graph All of the seeds started growing during the first 5 days. The corn hardly grew the first 5 days of my project. Soybeans and Oats were about the same height during the end of my project.

Seedlings Growing Under Artificial Light

Conclusion I was wrong! The corn grew the least! The soybeans grew the best. After watching for a few days, I thought oats would grow best , but it came in 2nd. Soybeans and oats grew very fast. Corn did not grow very fast at all. Nothing went wrong with my experiment.
