CPTWG 2001 / November / 28 Status Report from WG9 / DVD Forum DVD Forum WG9 3 WG9/Ah9-1 reviewed and confirmed their discussion and activities for DVD format. –WG9/Ah9-1 has been discussing Copy Protection Technology for the DVD format over 3 years. On the other hands, there is a new format that is claiming compatibility with DVD format from outside of the DVD-Forum. Since they are not approved by the DVD Forum, the DVD Forum can not force them to follow the agreements, the specifications and/or the standards for Copy Protection scheme. This can be a threat to secure DVD-Format domain. –WG9/Ah9-1 will consult with MPA about this issue. WG9 sent a request to DVDCCA for approval of 625p output from DVD player of PAL system as same as 525p. Activity Report related to CP
