Root Causes Of Accidents “Unspoken” causes of accidents  My plane just had an annual. It is in tip top shape. What could go wrong?  I’m not scud running, FSS says its MVFR.  I don’t need ATC, I’m only going across town.  My girlfriend really liked the weekend trip, But my wife expects me home tomorrow. But my wife expects me home tomorrow.  My calculations say I can make it on one tank of fuel with 30 min reserve.

Root Causes Of Accidents “Unspoken” causes of accidents  I don’t need to file a flight plan, It’s nobody’s business where I’m going.  My GPS screen was so distracting, I turned off all of those annoying warnings.  I’ll let down early and sneak a peek.  My 172 gets off in 1200 ft at VDF. Vail CO has 7000 of runway. No Prob. We can have a golf foursome after all.  I have a cold, but I am taking medicine for it.

Root Causes Of Accidents “Unspoken” causes of accidents  I can change my own oil and spark plugs.  I upgrade my GPS Database yearly.  I saw Patty Wagstaff do it.  I am still current. I made three TO&L 60 days ago.  Must be a gauge problem.

Root Causes Of Accidents “Unspoken” causes of accidents  My Storm Scope says I can go right through here.  ATC: Cross runway 32 without delay. Pilot: I think that was for us wasn’t it?  The baby cried all night, I might as well stay up so I can leave early for tomorrow’s flight to Dallas. I might as well stay up so I can leave early for tomorrow’s flight to Dallas.  I could wait until tomorrow, But I probably won’t have a job come Tuesday morning.  Hope we get that loan, let’s go flying and pre-celebrate.
