Mission of FDA Promote faculty development (Office of Faculty Recognition is part of FDA) Engage in creative problem-solving related to faculty and student-academic issues Connect the interests of faculty and administration Interpret and enforce University policies

Responsibilities of FDA Interprets and enforces the FSU Constitution, Faculty Senate Policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement. FDA also helping the university remain in compliance with our accrediting body (SACS) Includes: Faculty Credentials and Evaluations Faculty Governance & Academic Freedom Faculty and Student Complaints, Appeals & Grievances Academic Program Approval Responsibility for Curriculum Compliance with Other Commission Policies

Responsibilities of FDA Policies of particular relevance to faculty: – Promotion and Tenure procedures – Faculty Development Leaves and Sabbaticals – Faculty Assignments & Evaluations – Resolving Faculty Issues and Concerns re: University policies
