Interviewing Skills Making a good 1 st impression is critical to getting that dream job Most important thing is to be PREPARED Have answers to the tough questions that will be asked BE YOURSELF PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE

BE ON TIME!!! Arrive a minimum of minutes early.

Brainstorm Things you want to accomplish in the next 1-5 years Be realistic with your goals Examples Advanced Education Classes Having a set amount of guests returning to you within a year Becoming a trainer within your salon Gain knowledge in every aspect of how a successful salon is run

Educational Achievements Have a list of successes you have achieved Ones that you have accomplished while in school will show an employer that you are serious about your career Examples: Honor role Perfect attendance Average retail per client ticket Participated in a hair/fashion show

What to Bring When you are meeting with a potential employer remember to bring with you copies of your: Cover Letter Resume Portfolio Pen and Paper

Practice, Practice, Practice During the interviewing process the employer will be asking you questions. The more practice answering employer questions the more natural and confident you will be. Honesty and Sincerity in answering should be evident. It is also important to come to the interview with questions you may have.
