Ten Frames Numbers Some Ways to Use the Ten Frames 1. How many dots do you see? Use the ten frames to reinforce sight recognition of the ten frame dot patterns. Show the ten frame for seconds. Ask students to show the number of dots – with a number card, or on their whiteboard, or with counters on a ten frame mat, or by circling the number on a worksheet, or More than/Less than concepts After seeing the ten frame for a few seconds, students could be asked to show 1 more (1 less, 2 more, 2 less etc.)
