Branch and Regional Officials NATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME

Aims & Objectives Develop the confidence and effectiveness of Branch and Regional Officials in a wide range of capacities including:  Casework including negotiation and advocacy skills  Health and Safety  Organizing and recruitment  NAHT structures and democratic processes, including the rules and constitution  Pay and conditions of service  Pensions issues  NAHT finances  Employment and education law  ICT skills  Dealing with the media  Equal opportunities and diversity  The Independent Sector  Any other areas Council considers vital to the future development of the Association

National Training Programme Equipping Branch and Regional Officials with: Skills Knowledge Strategies for action Training based upon Trade Union Principles

Induction For new or recently appointed Branch and Regional Officials Where: NAHT HQ, Haywards Heath, West Sussex 1 day course When: 3 dates available Wednesday 21 st September 2011 Thursday 29 th September 2011 Tuesday 18 th October 2011 What:Chance to meet HQ staff. Sessions from Policy and Representation & Advice, IT, Finance, Recruitment and Democracy and Governance teams.

National Branch and Regional Officials Conference Date: TBA but will be around late November / early December. We will let you have the date as soon as possible Booking forms will be sent out by Branch Circular in September We particularly want to encourage people who have not attended such a Conference before, particularly if they are on the Branch Executive or shown a willingness/interest to become involved.
