Our Mission… Building Community Through Common Vision The mission of Make An Impact Foundation is to promote the education and well- being of children by identifying those in severe need (homeless, poverty, etc.) as well as those with learning needs, emotional needs, disabilities or disease and creating an opportunity to produce change in their lives. Our vision at MAIF is to meet the needs of children by identifying worthwhile projects and finding donor partners to help meet each need.

Our Process… Breaking Down How We Go About Selecting Projects Identify The first step of the process is identifying which projects have been properly submitted and have enough donor support. Evaluate After these projects are identified, they are evaluated by our Board of Directors based on six, pre-determined criteria. Fund Once a project passes the evaluation process, it moves into the funding stage where donors can begin to contribute to its goals.

About the Foundation… Founded in 2010 as a 501(C)(3) The foundation has funded projects totaling over $150,000 Dale Gillmore – Founder - Named Outstanding Emerging Philanthropist by the Association of Fundraising Professionals as part of Charlotte’s National Philanthropy Day celebration for 2015 Started two additional funding areas in 2015 to accommodate additional needs

My Impact Fund is a philanthropic vehicle created to give donors an effective way to submit projects they would like to fund or help fund. Donors will submit their proposal for funding and provide the initial donation. Once accepted and vetted the My Impact Fund Project will be posted on the MAIF website and others will be encouraged to give until the Project is fully funded.

My Corporate Impact Fund was created to give corporations a philanthropic outlet for their companies and employees using their own brand identity without having to create their own charitable foundation. Donors will establish their own corporate fund at Make An Impact Foundation and choose projects they wish to fund that align with the criteria of the MAIF mission. In addition they may give to projects that are vetted and posted for funding from My Impact Fund or My Playground Impact Fund.

My Playground Impact Fund is another philanthropic vehicle created to give donors an effective way to submit projects they would like to fund or help fund. Donors will establish their own individual playground fund at Make An Impact Foundation and use the MAIF website for raising funds for their playground project. Each project will be approved by MAIF prior to posting for additional funding.

Current Projects - MYM Education and Career Center Market Your Mind, Not Your Body (MYM) exists to encourage, equip and exemplify positive transformations in young women as they market their minds and not their bodies in this highly sexualized society. MYM has worked with 200+ survivors of commercial sexual exploitation in the Charlotte area since THE NEED – to establish and furnish the first ever drop-in center for sexually exploited youth in North Carolina to provide GED and tutoring programs specifically tailored to the needs of commercially exploited youth.

Current Projects – Bit of Hope Ranch Bit of Hope Ranch is a place of refuge and therapy for hurting children and families. The NEED – to build 3 small sheds (12’x 16’) that will house the therapy horses in their natural environment. Having multiple, smaller sheds will keep horses from being bullied and allow constant access to hay and shelter. Sheds will be built to withstand storms and can be cleaned on a daily basis to prevent disease and poor hoof conditions.
