The Entrepreneurial Technology Apprenticeship Program Federally funded program sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce and administrated by the National Technology Transfer Center at Wheeling Jesuit University Consisted of a two month academic portion and a four month apprenticeship portion
The Academic Portion I took three summer courses at Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, WV: – Technology and Ethics – Strategic Management & Development in Technology & Innovation – Professional & Leadership Development
The Apprenticeship Portion I interned with NASA Headquarters in conjunction with the Science Application Int’l Co. in Washington, DC: – SAIC is a major firm that NASA outsources its IT tasks to. – Because of my request for a more technologically intensive apprenticeship, I worked with SAIC.
What I Did Main Project: Reccomendation Report on Improving the TechTracS Database Aided in the testing of plug-ins and upgrades to computer system core-loads Evaluated and prepared a competitive analysis document on competing asset management software packages Assisted in the initialization of first-time users to ERASMUS, NASA’s Financial Dashboard System
What I Did (cont.) Researched NASA Success Stories to find suitable images and excerpts for the Division Web site Attended NASA sponsored HTML and PowerPoint classes
