Resistance: When electrical current (flow of electrons) is slowed down - force it into a inefficient conductor - transforms the electrical energy into another form Resistor: A device that slows down the flow of electrons by a measurable amount

The Resistor What do we need them for: They are used to control current or potential difference in a circuit. This allows us to set the correct amount of voltage to sensitive parts of a circuit Eg. Some parts of the computer need a slower current so they don’t melt down
