Homework Homework is set every week on: Friday MUST DO HOMEWORK: Spelling List– Tested on a Thursday Times Tables - Tested on a Tuesday Literacy – writing spellings into sentences Numeracy Reading COULD DO HOMEWORK: Bug Club Visit the library Topic Linked Homework – sometimes an independent project. Homework will be responded to & sent home the same week. We request a letter from parents if homework is not able to be completed for whatever reason. Children can opt to do their homework at a lunch time at the teacher’s discretion if you do not have internet access at home.

Writing Expectations Writing is often organised, imaginative and clear. Main features of different forms of writing is used appropriately. Some attempt to sequence ideas logically. Beginning to separate writing into paragraphs. Mainly uses compound sentences with some attempt to write complex ones Uses a variety of connectives in sentences. Grammatical structure of sentences is mainly correct. Punctuation – full stops, capital letters, question marks. Some use of speech punctuation and commas Some words chosen for variety and interest. Eg adverbs, adjectives, similes Spelling is mainly accurate, including common polysyllabic words. Handwriting is joined and legible, with accurate and consistent letter formation.

Class Management Bags 1 drawstring PE bag to stay on peg in school 1 small school bag to include their lunchbox Coats Please ensure your child has a tag on the back of their coat so that it will stay on their peg & that it is labelled with their name Clothes: Please label with child’s name Pupils may bring sports top, drink bottles into school but water only for the classroom Class Equipment: Children may bring a small pencil case/reading book from home but we cannot take responsibility for lost items. Could we please request that children do not bring in large pencil case containing unnecessary stationary.
