Adjectives are words that describe a noun. Words that describe verbs are called adverbs. One kind of adverbs tells how. Most adverbs that tell how en in –ly. Examples: A seal swims powerfully. The boy bravely jumped into the wáter.

Difference between adjectives and adverbs. 1.- The sun was sinking slowly behind the trees. 2.- The handball team played badly last Saturday. 3.- She is bad at playing soccer. 4.- Mandy drives carefully. 5.- He is careful. 6.- The dog only rarely barks.

Adverbs can tell how. They can also tell when and where. Adverbs can come before or after the verbs they describe. Examples: Tomorrow, we will go swimming. We will swim there. What are the words that tell when and where?

Adverbs also can be used with more and most to compare actions. Use more with an adverb to compare two actions. Use most with an adverb to compare more than two actions. Example: Raul climbs up to the attic more easily than my brother does. Olivia was the most prepared for the test.
