 To develop an elevated water storage and pumping system that can be implemented in rural communities worldwide  Focus on providing a reliable system for two communities in Ecuador through HCJB

 Stewardship -Use only materials local to Ecuador -Efficient use of all resources  Transparency -maintain open communication with our client, HCJB -Make sure the communities we are serving are aware of developments

 Washintsa -15 family community -Currently has no water system -Requires a complete distribution system, tower and pump design  Iniayua -25 family community -Current tower is on the verge of collapse due to lack of maintenance and poor material construction -Tower does not meet capacity requirements

Tower -Tower will be built using steel or wood materials -Modeling will be conducted using StaadPro and RAM Steel -Must provide sufficient storage capacity and pressure to meet the demands -Must withstand the climate elements Pump -Solar powered pump must meet average daily flow conditions -Determine optimum number and size of solar panels based on user demand and weather conditions Distribution System -A complete distribution system will be design for Washintsa -Modeling will be conducted using EPANET

 Weight and Size Constraints -Materials not from village must fit in a small aircraft -Maximum material length is 6 feet -Cannot exceed 800 pounds per plane load -largest hard plastic tank that can fit is 145 gallons  Simple Construction -Constructed without the use of electricity - Constructed with unskilled labor force  Cost

 Team plans to travels to Ecuador in January for 9 days  Visit the two sites to meet with the end users and collect data -topographic -soil conditions -layout of the village -Analyze local materials
