America Reads Civically Engaged Scholars Alternative Spring Break Service-Learning SLICE: Student Leaders in Civic Engagement Evelyn Thayne created the Thayne Center in 1993.

America Reads is a national literacy tutoring program. Requirements to participate.. Alternative spring break is a drug and alcohol free volunteer immersion program through transformative action, education, and critical reflection. Requirements include Must attend a mandatory orientation before submitting an application r paying their deposit. Must secure a spot in mid=November.

The service learning program is an academic pedagogy integrating volunteer opportunities, critical reflective thinking, and partnerships with nonprofit organizations are combined into course work.

Requirements in order to apply 2 recommendation letters 2.5 GPA If accepted Must complete 100 service hours Must enroll in LE 2920 – Civically Engaged Leader Enrolled in at least 9 hours of other classes Full Tuition Waiver Lasts for 2 Semesters Graduate with Distinction 4.0 GPA Can lead to other scholarships
