 Business Overview and Scope  Project Guiding Principles  Project Schedule  Department Sponsors  Project Governance Model  Project Information 2

 Monitor and track timelines for review and approval to increase efficiency  Track the data from the different interactions we have with Principal Investigators  Allow us to use existing systems at the University  Create our application based on our Principal Investigator needs and our regulatory needs  Replaces current eSirius application 3

 Animal Ordering ◦ Principal Investigators and labs will be able to place their orders for animals on-line ◦ Track orders and delivery  Manage Animal Census ◦ Maintain animal numbers by species, by room, by building ◦ Principal Investigators and labs will be able to track their cages on a real-time basis  Billing and Invoicing ◦ Principal Investigators will be able to access monthly ULAM invoices for animal orders, per diem and technical services ◦ Upload ULAM invoice data into Mpathways/General Ledger 4

 Cost Accounting ◦ Maintain cost data by cost center/species ◦ Review expense data ◦ Review and set-up of recharge rates for  Per Diem  Technical services  Enhanced reporting capability  In house support of work tool 5

 Minimize administrative burden on faculty and staff who prepare, review, and approve applications.  Provide necessary protocol and animal management data for investigator, unit, and institutional management, serving as the single source for protocol and animal management data.  Maintain a balance between minimum requirements needed to submit a protocol and desire for more institutional data. 6

 Maintain a balance between unit flexibility and institutional consistency with ease of use being the prevailing criterion.  Maintain compatibility with existing institutional systems.  Maintain a high level of sensitivity to the need to balance transparency of information against the need for the safety and security of investigators. 7
