Year 8 into 9 Options Evening

RATIONALE BEHIND THE MODEL 1.Curriculum design that meets the requirements of The Ebacc, a group of ‘high value’ qualifications. English, Maths, Science plus two from History, Geography, Spanish and Computer Science. This group of subjects are highly rated by Employers and Universities 2. Progress 8 and the end of A*-G grades 3. An increased number of lessons in English, Maths and Science to ensure that students are prepared for GCSE’s that have grown in content. 4. Ensure pupils have the opportunity to continue specialising in subjects they excel in and have enjoyed in year 8, increasing mastery in preparation for GCSE in Year 10, but not actual GCSE content at this stage.
