I. The RULE of the Son of Man A.There are TWO returns of Jesus Christ described in Scripture - The First is called the RAPTURE

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 “ 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

B.The Second is called the SECOND COMING - this return will occur about 7 YEARS after the rapture - this return is sometimes referred to as the REVELATION

B. A GLORIOUS RETURN Matthew 16:27 “ For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.”

Revelation 19: “ 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.”

A GRIEVOUS Return Matthew 24:30: “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

Revelation 1:7 “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.”

II. The RATIFICATION of the Son of Man John 1:10-11 “ 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”

His REQUEST for His Inheritance Psalm 2:1-2 “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the L ORD, and against his anointed, saying,”

Psalm 2:4-5 “ 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the L ORD shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.”

Psalm 2:6-7 “ 6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7 I will declare the decree: the L ORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.” ”

Psalm 2:8 “ Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.”

Revelation 5:1-3 “And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.”

The RECEPTION of His Inheritance Revelation 5:5-7 “And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. 6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. 7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.”

III. The RULE of the Son of Man A.UNIVERSAL Kingdom (Daniel 7:14) B.ETERNAL Kingdom 1.His Dominion is EVERLASTING 2.His Kingdom is on that which shall not be DESTROYED
